Throughout his childhood, Doug Auxier was always involved in the family's business and continues to proudly carry on the tradition as its president and owner. Doug graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1970. Doug took over for his father and founder of Auxier Gas Bun Auxier, in 1978 and is now responsible for overseeing the company's day-to-day operations.
Doug is also very involved with many industry associations. He is an active member of the Ohio Propane Gas Association and past president, served as a council member on the propane industry's Propane Education and Research Council (PERC) and is an Ex-officio member of PERC's Safety and Training committee. In 2003, Doug was elected to Chairman of the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) and is a current board member. Prior to joining NPGA's board, he served as Chairman of the Training and Safety committee and Chairman of the Market Development committee.
In addition to overseeing Auxier Gas, Doug serves as manager of Auxier Farms, located in southern Ohio, where he grows corn, soybeans and wheat for the commercial market.
An accomplished pilot, Doug often flies a restored vintage T-28 two-seat trainer decked out in U.S. Navy livery in his spare time. He is also involved in the Experimental Aircraft Association's Warbirds of America program, is a Cincinnati Warbirds trustee and is a member of the Syrian Shrine and National Hot Rod Association.
